Objectified is a feature-length independent documentary about industrial design. It’s a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It’s about the people who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It’s about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability. It’s about our relationship to mass-produced objects and, by extension, the people who design them.

I’m pretty late on this one but I think its still worth posting. Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson had a limited release in the U.S. on July 4th 2008. Go here for play dates.

Synopsis via rottentomatoes.com: Few journalists have attained the notoriety of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. His legendary status is due as much to his scintillating writing as his outrageous antics. He became a living legend whose persona often overshadowed his work. However, Thompson’s steadfast ability to remain true to his convictions created an entirely new style of journalism, dubbed “gonzo,” and has solidified his place in history as one of America’s most influential writers and rebels.

One Day As A Lion

One Day As A Lion is a collaboration between Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine) and Jon Theodore (The Mars Volta). Their name is taken from Chicano George Rodriguez’s 1970 photograph of a tag on a white wall that reads, “It’s better to spend one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb.” Their debut five track EP is available and worth a listen. Let’s hope this ongoing collaboration yields many more tracks and hopefully some live performances real soon.
